| A
10-song CD is included with the book. It contains the following performances:
1. "Long Distance Call" written and performed by Muddy Waters (McKinley Morganfield) 2. "The Honeydripper" written and performed by Roosevelt Sykes 3. "That's All Right" written and performed by Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup 4. "Bumble Bee Blues" written and performed by Memphis Minnie (Lizzie "Kid" Douglas McCoy Lawlars) 5. "I'm in the Mood" written and performed by John Lee Hooker 6. "Hideaway" written and performed by Freddie King 7. "Everyday I Have the Blues" written by Memphis Slim (Peter Chatman) and performed by Joe Williams * 8. "Going Back to Memphis" written and performed by Memphis Slim (Peter Chatman) 9. "The Thrill is Gone" written by Roy Hawkins and performed by B.B. King 10. "Damn Right I've Got the Blues" written and performed by Buddy Guy * This was a dumb/funny/sad mistake, made by the people who put the disc together. They confused the jazz singer Joe Williams with the bluesman Big Joe Williams. "Wild Cow Blues," by Big Joe, was supposed to be on the disk and is even listed on the disk's face, but a very jazzy and swinging version of "Everyday..." is actually there instead. By the time I caught the mistake it was too late to change it. Still, "Everyday I have the Blues" is a great song, and Williams does a great job with it here, so enjoy. |
